Abstract. The article examines the peculiarities of arranging gastronomic events in the tourist market of Vladivostok. There has been an increased interest on the part of tourists not only in sightseeing and adventure travel but also in food tours and culinary events, which are integral parts of gastronomic tourism. The authenticity of Far Eastern cuisine is associated with its unique food potential (fish, seafood, wild edible plants, etc.). The paper aims to determine the steps needed to organize gastronomic events in the tourist market of Vladivostok by analysing theory and learning from best practices. Methodologically, the study is a market segmentation research based on the classification of gastronomic events organised in Vladivostok. It employs comparative and statistical methods, survey, and analysis. The research has identified
the gastronomic tourism destinations, the objectives and types of consumers attending gastronomic events, and the benefits for providers of food resources. Steps for organizing gastronomic events have been worked out. The types of culinary events and their organizers in the Vladivostok market were determined, and the interest of consumers in the regional cuisine was revealed. The research is relevant as it reviews local food resource providers, which is necessary for developing gastronomic event programs. The paper also offers segmentation depending on the format of a gastronomic event. A model for organizing gastronomic events developed in the course of the research is of importance to industry professionals. The recommendations the paper offers could be used by gastronomic activities organizers at all stages of gastronomic event planning.
